For decades Hamas (and Hezbollah) have a common MO, i.e. they like to forge casualty numbers, to the point where they have staged dead people by using living people pretending to be dead. For many of those who know and are aware, if these lies, deceptions and disinformation serves the purpose and the narrative, it’s fine by them– never mind using civilian infrastructures for military purposes, e.g. schools, UN facilities, mosques, hospitals, etc. If anyone thinks this is fine, it’s evil.
Islamist firmly believe that because of and through doctrinal, historical and scriptural examples, that by applying deception for their interests, be it in war or peace time (even if it means it risks the death of their own people), is divinely ordained.
