Related to the recent attack on the Guardsmen in DC, see the video, ‘Shocking body cam footage captures deadly Fairfax traffic stop’.
A traffic stop turned deadly last May; herein is an example of the possible variables that perhaps led to this particular Afghan veteran of the Afghan military to lash out so dangerously in Fairfax.
In this case, Jamal Wali was obviously under stress, not a happy camper with his existence in the US. Listen to the dialogue.
At one point, Wali says, “I should have served with the f&^%ing Taliban.”
It could have been the culture shock of living in the US, that it wasn’t what he expected, that life was more difficult than he anticipated, then add the cultural differences, and, that he can’t return home; add to that he perhaps felt all has been lost, especially post-Taliban takeover; perhaps he felt an overwhelming sense of frustration, so that all or some of these factors led him to be so angry to be dangerous and to make his last mistake.
🔹IMHO, regarding the Afghan national, Rahmanullah Lakanwal, and this latest attack he carried out on the Guardsmen in DC, it might be the same sort of dynamic. Maybe Lakanwal suddenly found Islam again, and is using that as a crutch to lash out, and he carried out the attack, perhaps hoping he’d die as a martyr? Lakanwal, perhaps, was also acting out of frustrations, whereas this attack, too, might have been more driven by his mental and emotional state, not that he was necessarily a Taliban mole or agent.
➤ CNN reports: “In terms of vetting, nothing came up,” the senior US official said. “He (Rahmanullah Lakanwal) was clean on all checks.”
But, to be honest, there is the possibility that Rahmanullah Lakanwal was a Taliban or Islamist group’s sleeper. Or that Lakanwal, being disillusioned by life in America, did suddenly turn and affiliate himself with ISIS or some such. Let’s see what comes up.
➤ CNN reports: The president called for a reexamination of every person from Afghanistan who came to the US under President Joe Biden, and criticized what he claimed were millions of “unknown and unvetted foreigners” admitted to the country under his predecessor.

Culture eats strategy for breakfast.
